In 2020, the US stock market policeman paid $ 175 million to 39 whistleblowers. Never seen. The pandemic has no doubt allowed whistleblowers, confined to their homes, to be protected from the prying eyes of their superiors.
This is unheard of. The SEC (Securities Exchange Commission), the US stock market policeman, paid between September 2019 and September 2020, $ 175 million to 39 whistleblowers. This is 4% more than the previous record which stood at $ 168 million in 2018 and almost three times more than the total paid in 2019. Last year “only” $ 60 million was distributed to eight people.
